S-CAPE II Set-up and trouble shooting.

Before beginning, make sure bed is plugged into a working, grounded outlet.  You can test the outlet by plugging in a lamp or radio.

1-Check to see if the Transmission Indicator illuminates, you can do this by pressing any button on the remote.

*If not, check to see if the batteries are installed correctly. Replace the batteries if needed.

*If yes, try performing the Auto Learn Function outlined below:

Press and hold the POS 1 and HEAD MASSAGE ON/OFF buttons (See diagram below).  The transmission light will flash slowly and then flash rapidly.  Continue to hold for 10 seconds and then release the buttons.    Note:   If using the Auto Learn Function when more than one wireless equipped bed is in transmission range (approx. 50’ radius), you must remove power from all beds not intended to learn the code.

2-If the bed still does not operate after performing the Auto Learn Function, turn the bed over or on its side and follow the procedures outlined below:

*Be sure the power down box is plugged in to the correct port.  The POWER DOWN plug should be in the POWER DOWN connector port (the wires are red and black and are labeled, the connector port is also labeled).   The RF/IR INPUT plug should be in the RF/IR INPUT connector port (the wires are blue, green, and yellow, and are labeled, the connector port is also labeled).

*Check to be sure the dip switched are set correctly.  YOU MUST UNPLUG THE BED BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO CHANGE THE DIP SWITCH SETTINGS.  They MUST be in following order:

          1-Down, 2-UP, 3-DOWN, 4-UP, 5-UP, 6-UP, 7-UP, 8-DOWN,

          Adjust the switches as necessary.

*Be sure the ABC Switch on the motor is set to “C”

Plug bed back into outlet.  Reprogram the hand control.

If bed still does not operate, please call Warranty Department: Eastern and Central Time Zones  1-800-888-3078 Mountain, Pacific, and Hawaii Time Zones and Canada 1-800-345-4333

NOTE: The Headboard Brackets and the Mattress Retainer Brackets are located on the underside of the base unit.

Place headboard bracket assembly onto frame of bed as shown in Detail A.  Loosely attach headboard bracket assembly to the frame, using the 4 bolts provided.  Slide the assembly into position leaving a 1 ½” space between the edge of the bed and the face of the headboard bracket.  Tighten bolts.  Repeat procedure to attach other headboard bracket.

Measure the distance between headboard bracket slots as shown in Detail B and measure the distance between holes in the headboard.  Remove bolts indicated in Detail B to make width adjustment.  After width adjustment is made, reinstall bolts and tighten securely.

MATTRESS RETAINER BRACKET

Place washers and spacers on the four screws as detailed in the adjacent diagram.  Loosely install each of the four screws into the pre-punched

holes at the foot of the bed.  Slide the mattress retainer between the trim washer and the standard washer as shown in the adjacent diagram.  Tighten screws.  The mattress retainer must be used or the mattress will slide off the end of the bed when the head is raised.  Unpack the mattress and place it on the base unit.  Dispose of all plastic packing material.
